As part of an ongoing effort to promote HVCC programs in our community, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion continues to work with youth organizations that guide high school students toward a career path.
The Troy Drug Free Community Coalition (TDFCC) is one such organization. The TDFCC is a coalition of community members, police, schools, and others who seek to prevent substance abuse through the promotion of positive opportunities for Troy’s young people. Its mission is to reduce substance abuse among young people and build a safer, more prosperous community for all.
Recently, several students and their adult mentors visited the college and toured several program areas of interest to them. These included Applied Technologies, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, and Surgical Tech. Special thanks to the staff who assisted with the tours: Dave Sarnacki, Tim Howe, Roseanne Henley, Carly Hall and Brian Barboza.
In service,
Ainsley Thomas
Chief Diversity Officer
